Welcome. I’m Kristina, your (not so) humble hostess.

I don’t always look like a rock star, by the way. Usually I look more like this:

That might be because I am Canadian – a more or less permanent malcontent living in Toronto.

So, what’s all this then? Think gentrification, general stupidity and the seven deadly sins and you’re on the right track.

Huh?! Well, every day, I look around me and see at least one thing that drives little ol’ pinko me completely mad about our society today. $75 water bottles, condo projects swallowing the downtown core, SUV drivers with cell phones grafted to their ears practically mowing down pedestrians… you name it.

And every evening, I go home and watch the news and throw (empty) beer bottles at the television screen. I tell you, it’s enough to make a girl want to

In fact, if I didn’t spend all my spare time doing crafts, I’d probably have been committed by now.

At first, I thought that it was just me getting older and crankier. But I’m increasingly certain that’s not the case. We’re told to be afraid of everything by the media, Increasingly it seems to me that Western society is going straight to hell in a teacup.

(But what about the handbasket? I must confess that I’ve never been quite sure what a “handbasket” is. Plus, baskets in general, being made of wicker, burn quickly. The teacup, by comparison, is made to withstand a lot of heat. But one not-so-fine day, it could shatter…)

Sometimes, in my inimitable grandiose fashion, I think I’m the only person out here with any insight into the situation.

So I do hope that you will visit often, leave me some comments and prove me wrong!
